In exactly 8 weeks from now I will be headed back to Jerusalem do another semester of study at Jerusalem University College. This will be my third semester (out of 4 required to complete a Masters degree in Middle Eastern Cultures and Religions). In 2012 I completed the first 2 semesters, and earned a Master's certificate. I did not anticipate ever going back to continue the degree program, since earning the certificate was an experience and accomplishment all in itself. But now I find myself about to return to do it all again...How blessed I am!!!
This time, I will not be living on campus, but will be staying in an apartment that is right next door to Succat Hallel - a 24/7 House of Prayer which overlooks the Temple Mount. In addition to my on campus studies and classes, and as part of my schooling this fall, I am required to do a "Practicum in Ministry", i.e. 150 hours of service at a ministry...and this will be completed at Succat Hallel, where I will be able to lead prayer watches, worship, pray and intercede, and serve in whatever way they need me. The photo above is a view through the window of Succat Hallel, and will also be the view from the apartment I'll be staying at -- Look closely and you will see the Dome of the Rock on the Temple Mount in the distance, right in the center of the photo.
